What type of area do coyotes live in?

i live in battle creek michigan and theres about 10 acres i think and like 7 is wooded and the rest is tall grass besides around the house. theres a river in the woods and a pond and the neighbors is mostly just crop fields theres like 2 houses that u can see from our house but some more on the other side of the woods we did hear them like once a few weeks ago for like 20 minutes late at night but we havent heard them since..so can we hunt coyotes here or go some where else and if so what types of area is the best?
